Mentorship for Teen Girls across NZ
A one-to-one space for girls 13–17 to talk about what’s actually going on, from body image and bullying to anxiety, friendships and boundaries, with someone outside of her everyday world in her corner.
Filtered faces on every feed. Group chats that never really switch off. Friendships that can shift overnight. Pressure at school, pressure online, and a running commentary in her head about whether she’s enough.
A lot of girls carry this quietly. Sometimes because they don’t know how to explain what’s going on. Sometimes because they don’t want to worry anyone. And sometimes because talking to a parent, teacher or someone close to them just feels too hard.
That’s where having someone outside of her everyday world can help.
Mentoring gives her time that is hers. A space to talk without judgement, untangle what she’s feeling, understand herself more clearly and have someone steady beside her while she works things through.
2026 is a lot to carry at fifteen.
Each session is shaped around what she needs and what’s going on in her world.
Body image & self-image · Anxiety & overwhelm · Bullying · Boundaries · Confidence & voice · Comparison & social media · Friendships & social pressure · Emotions
What I want her to take from our time together
Every girl is different, but these sessions are designed to help her build:
A clearer sense of who she is, separate from comparison, social pressure and everyone else’s opinion of her.
A calmer relationship with her body and the way she sees herself.
Tools to navigate anxiety and big emotions without feeling completely overwhelmed by them.
More confidence to set boundaries with friends, online, and in the moments where she feels pressure to keep everyone else happy.
A relationship with a trusted adult outside of her everyday world, where she can talk openly, feel understood and be herself without judgement.

MEET ARA
Ara is a mother and clinical hypnotherapist, with training in coaching and counselling. She's spent years helping people move through self-doubt, anxiety, and disconnection.
She started this mentoring space because she kept seeing how much teen girls are quietly carrying — and wanted to offer them a calm, steady guide who isn't a parent, a teacher, or someone whose opinion she has to manage. Just someone who helps her make sense of what she's feeling and find her own way through it.
FAQs
-
This is a relaxed 15-minute call or text chat where we can talk about what’s been going on for your daughter, what kind of support you’re looking for, and whether I feel like the right fit for her. There’s no pressure to book. It’s simply a chance for us to connect and for you to ask any questions before deciding on the next step.
-
We’ll begin with a 30-minute parent consultation so I can understand a little more about your daughter, what she’s navigating and what you’d love support with. I’ll then spend a full hour one-to-one with your daughter, giving us time to connect at her pace and begin building a relationship that feels comfortable and safe.
-
Sessions can be held online by video call, or in person anywhere on Waiheke Island. If you’d prefer me to come to you for an in-person session, there’s an additional $20 travel fee per session.

My approach is intuitive and personalised, and I draw on a range of mentoring, coaching, counselling-style and therapeutic techniques depending on what your daughter needs. It’s a supportive one-to-one space where she can talk openly, work through what’s going on for her, build confidence and feel genuinely heard and supported.
While I’m also trained in hypnotherapy, I don’t use hypnotherapy in these sessions.
-
I hold a Diploma in Advanced Clinical Hypnotherapy through the Integrative Hypnotherapy Institute, a Certificate in Coaching and Counselling, and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science.
My training gives me a broad understanding of both emotional wellbeing and the mind-body connection, and I bring that knowledge into the way I support each girl as an individual. While I’m trained in hypnotherapy, I don’t use hypnotherapy in these sessions.
-
That’s completely normal. I don’t expect her to walk in and immediately open up to me. I’ll take the time to get to know her, find common ground and let the relationship build naturally. There’s no pressure to talk about anything she isn’t ready for. My priority at the beginning is simply helping her feel comfortable enough to be herself with me.
-
The sessions are a space for your daughter and me, and building trust is an important part of that. I won’t routinely report back on what we talk about or share the details of our conversations with you. I want her to know she has a space where she can speak openly and honestly without feeling like everything will be passed on afterwards.
If something comes up that makes me concerned for her safety or wellbeing, I’ll involve you where appropriate, with her safety always coming first.
-
The one-to-one sessions are designed to give your daughter her own space to build trust with me and feel comfortable talking openly. You’re still an important part of the process, which is why we begin with a parent consultation. After that, the sessions are time for your daughter and me to work together one-to-one.
-
Yes. Because I’m working one-to-one with your daughter, I require consent from a parent or guardian before we begin. I’ll make sure you understand how the sessions work, what you can expect from me and the boundaries around privacy and safety before her first session.
-
Yes. You can pay the $800 programme fee in full, or spread the cost across 10 weekly payments of $80, beginning when your daughter starts.
Because I only work with five mentoring clients at a time, joining the 10-week programme means committing to the full programme and the full $800 fee. Choosing weekly payments simply spreads the cost across the 10 weeks rather than changing that commitment.

I know family life doesn’t always run to schedule. If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will count as one of your sessions, except in genuine emergencies.
If you have a holiday or planned time away during the 10-week programme, that’s absolutely fine. We can pause sessions for up to two weeks and pick back up when you return. I just ask that you let me know in advance so we can plan around it.
